EEXI, stands for “Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index” was introduced by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2021 to reduce carbon emissions. It serves as a measure designed to decrease CO2 emissions in existing ships, expressing their energy efficiency based on design.
